Respect and Dignity

dignity-respect-backgroundAt Appletree we treat our patients with respect and dignity and do not discriminate against them in any way, on the grounds of age, sex or sexual orientation, colour, race, ethnic background, disability, religion or religious or philosophical belief.

Physical violence and verbal abuse is a growing concern. GPs, Nurses and other Practice staff have a right to care for others without fear of being attacked or abused. We ask that you treat your GP and Practice staff properly, without violence or abuse.

We strongly support the NHS policy on Zero Tolerance.

Anyone either phoning or attending the Practice who abuses any staff member or patient, be it verbally, physically or in any threatening manner whatsoever will risk removal from the Practice list and be reallocated with the assistance of NHS England.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Following Government guidance, we are now able to plan to invite patients for their flu jabs and covid boosters.  These vaccinations (one in each arm) will be given at the same appointment.  The covid booster cannot be given until 6 months after you received your second covid vaccine.   You are likely to be offered a full dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine (or, less likely, a half dose of the Moderna vaccine).  This follows scientific evidence showing that both of these vaccines provide a strong booster response, regardless of which vaccine you initially had.

We are currently working very hard to put these clinics in place so please bear with us.  We will be contacting eligible patients either by text, phone or letter inviting you to book an appointment a the Babington Vaccination Hub.

Eligible Under 18’s are the exception and will be offered the Nasal Flu vaccination at the Duffield Surgery.  Again, invitations will be sent by text, phone or letter.

We are still awaiting guidance regarding administering the covid vaccination to ‘At Risk’ children.
